Flight Information
The Indonesian domestic airlines have been hard hit by fuel price increases and many of the airline companies have been struggling to maintain operations. Some companies have gone out of business while others are constantly changing schedules without notice. This has caused us many problems therefore we now have a once a week charter flight to ensure that our guests and their baggage are not affected by the unreliable service of the domestic airlines. If needed the plane will be reconfigured to accommodate large surfboards and excess baggage.
The weekly charter flight is every Thursday to Tambolaka Airport in West Sumba during the months of April though to the end of October; Tambolaka is the closest airport to Nihiwatu. Please consult with our booking office for details on Tambolaka flight times and schedules of domestic flights at Waingapu airport in East Sumba.
The Nihiwatu charter flight to Sumba, schedule is:

Your tickets: Please let us know where you will be staying in Bali, either by email (info@nihiwatu.com) or a call to our office once you have arrived; our Bali office number is 0361- 757 149. If we have your mobile phone number it would certainly help us to be better able to keep in touch with you. If we know where you are in the Kuta/Legian of Bali area we will do our best to deliver your tickets to your hotel or villa. We also want to be able to call to notify you in the event there are last minute changes to flight schedules.
If for any reason we cannot get tickets delivered to your hotel or villa please proceed to the domestic terminal of the airport at least one hour before departure. Look for our Nihiwatu sign nearby the entrance gate to the terminal, one of our staff will be waiting there with your tickets and escort you into the terminal. They will take you directly through to the VIP lounge while other staff will check your luggage in.

What a truly amazing accomplishment, Claude. You have created such a beautiful oasis and assembled a wonderful staff. Beyond the resort, your efforts toward the community with the Sumba Foundation have taken Nihiwatu to an entirely different level. We’re amazed. Thank you.
